In 1783, German-born Jacob Schweppe invented the first process for the carbonation of water.
That marked the start of Schweppes
Based on the 145-year-old Schweppes Indian Tonic Water from 1850, Schweppes Diet Indian Tonic Water is created using carefully selected lemons and oranges, which are gently peeled, steeped and cold pressed to release their oils. These oils are then combined with quinine derived from the bark of the cinchona tree from tropical plantations, creating a light, sugar-free tonic water that’s just as refreshing as the original.
